AfA gets mobile

On Friday, 26.12.2014, the Association for Autism (AfA) officially received a Toyota Hiace van. The vehicle was donated by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Lao Toyota Service Co., Ltd. (LTS) During the handing over, witnessed by Mr. Bernie Chaves, Country Representative of CRS, and Mr. Thongsamouth Luanglath, Director of LTS Sales Division, Ms. Viengsam Indavong, president of AfA, expressed on behalf of AfA and all parents of children with autism currently learning at the Vientiane Autism Center her gratitude to the generous donors.
The 15-seater will be used for transportation of children with autism between the VAC and the respective schools were children with autism learn in an inclusive education environment. The vehicle will also serve as “mobile clinic” during upcoming activities of AfA in other provinces of Lao PDR. The aim of these activities is to identify more children with autism, to disseminate knowledge about rights of people with disability as well as about autism and to provide access to education to those kids.
